70 FT by 14ft Luxemotor Built in 1998 by the owner of BandC boats for himself. Cleverly desgned with walk through from stern double ensuite cabin to very large saloon and a further double ensuite cabin in the bow. Beautifully finished oak interior. Carolann has been fitted to the highest standard using the best equipment available. The list reads as follows from the bow going aft. Carter twin hydraulic anchor winches and bow thruster driven from the gearbox. Stainless water tanks 350 gallons. Diesel fired central heating boiler with sepatate tank 70 gallons. Washing machine and drier. Heads equipped with new electric flush loos to holding tanks. Telecom line for broadband. Wood/coal burning stove and radiators. Hot water tank, heated by central heating, immersion and engine cooling. Fully equiped galley including gas hob and electric oven.
Engine compartment contains Perkins 130 hp engine powering aquadrive propeller shaft.Two separate diesel tanks containing 350 Gallons . 4.8Kva Northern lights generator. Adverc battery management system charging bank of 18 submarine batteries. Cooler for wheel house fridge.
Navigation equipment Faruno radar. Garmin gps. ctrek autohelm with remote (for steering the boat whilst on deck !) log, speed, depth, rudder angle. Vhf and stereo.
Hydraulic wheel steering with additional electronic joystick.
Enterprise dinghy also built by Bob Humphries used as show boat in Earls Court is included.
70 ft is considered to be the largest barge handleable by two people with ease and we regularly take her out for the weekend.
Carolann is moored in a small friendly economical barge harbour in the conservation area of Woodbridge Suffolk on the river Deben. |
