The layout of the boat is large open plan, very roomy with a bedroom and a bathroom. At the front is a large store room that could easily be converted to a master bedroom / office. It has a diesel fire connected to several radiators and has a electric hot water tank. washing machine, 2 fridges and a kitchen. The engine room is amazing, housing 2 large Gardner 6LWs and a (unique) Gleniffer DCV12. There is also a stationary engine to start the Gleniffer. It is quite maneuverable on the 2 Gardner's as each one has it's own propella. A full out of water hull survey and plating was carried out 3 years ago and it has a safety certificate until July 2010. It is not immaculate but with some work it could be a fantastic live aboard Come and view Priced to sell at £59.500.

These boat details are subject to contract. Preliminary details awaiting owners consent.
This Lady is an authentic Dutch Steel Gronningham Tjalk.
Made for cruising Dutch canals, she benefits from a very low air draft and is very easy to handle. She has a cosy warm interior which is enhanced by the wooden joinery. She would be a cosy liveaboard for a couple. However there is plenty of room to have visitors to stay.
The current owner fell in love with this vessel in Holland. She sailed her back and has used her as a liveaboard.
She is located in a marina which is convenient for motorway and rail links to London and the Channel Tunnel. She is not being offered with her present mooring, however the owner informs me that the new buyer should be able to approach the marina management for permission to remain.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.

These boat details are subject to contract.
Preliminary details awaiting owners consent.
A traditional Dutch Barge commonly known as a 'Luxemotor Barge'. Its Distinctive appearance cannot be mistaken. Originally, this was designed and built as a motorship. She would have been used to ferry goods along inland and coastal waterways. They lend themselves to conversion and make first class liveaboards.
This vessel came out of service in 1980 and was converted in Rotterdam with work completed in 1982. She travelled to the United Kingdom in 2001 and settled on the Medway in Kent where she has provided her current owners with a lovely lifestyle.
This is an excellent example of its type. The vessel offers well proportioned and spacious accommodation. The internal fittings are very well appointed. I found the vessel to be very homely and comfortable. She has a most definite feel which I liked.
Recently, the hull has been replated and I felt that she was very solid.
If you are looking for a good liveaboard then this most certainly has to be on your list.
Offers will be considered.

Premier Houseboats are pleased to present this Skutsje Tjalk, that has been lived in and sailed by a family of four for the last six years.Built in 1898, in riveted wrought iron with a wide beam and shallow draft. Originally built as a commercial sailing barge, she is fully converted to a liveaboard barge and retains her traditional sailing rig. She also has a keel cooled, DAF 6 cylinder 85 hp inboard engine. This was installed in 1976. In 2003, the propeller shaft was replaced. The Borg-Warner gearbox and V-drive was rebuilt in 2007. The engine has been well maintained and is in good working order.
She has a traditional curly gaff rig and comes complete with main sail, jib and storm jib, all in excellent condition. The mast and spars are in good condition and have been soaked in linseed oil and (2005) and varnished annually since. The standing rigging was replaced in 2006. Blocks are in good working order. The two oak leeboards and gaff boom were rebuilt in 2006 and are in excellent condition. She has a hand operated anchor winch in good working order. The whole sailing rig including a catval system and reefing is easy and efficient to use and she is joy to sail.
She was slipped in October 2007 and had a full survey. Her 6mm hull was in good condition and was coated in two coats of bitumen. New zinc anodes were also attached in 2007 and her hull was repainted above the water line as was the cabin roof. She has many unique features including an ornate carved cockpit entrance, a decorative rudder klik on top of her solid oak rudder. An ornate hand painted mast foot board, a ornate curly flag pole and hand carved elephant mast truck.
Accommodation comprises of:
Cockpit: roomy cockpit with wheel steering and teak decking re-laid and caulked in 2009
Three step down to
Galley: A roomy galley with a sink and drainage area facing the stern with two cupboards below. One houses a Zanussi washing machine, the other house a battery charger and provides ample storage space. The galley work top runs down the starboard side of the vessel and has two large cupboards, a large work surface area, a gimbelled platismo 2 hob, grill and oven, a spice rack and a 12/240v fridge with freezer compartment. On the starboard side there is a large chart table and VHF radio with chair and ample desk storage.
Saloon: Adjacent to this area is the saloon, which has ample storage/shelves throughout (including behind and below seats) There is a solid fuel Tortoise stove, which also heats the forward radiator. There is a table with seating for four (originally the table seated six and this could easily be converted back).
The whole of the galley/saloon area is very light with a wooden ceiling, four large windows and a roof hatch.
The corridor: wood panelled storage areas with dehumidifier.
The first door on the left lead to Cabin one, originally this had a double bed. It currently has two small children’s beds but could easily be reverted to a master cabin.
The second door leads to the
Bathroom: This comprises of an electric sea toilet, shaving point, sink, deep bath with integrated shower (all fitted in 2005).
The end of the corridor leads to
Cabin 2: There is limited headroom in this cabin and there is a large hatch (remade in 2004 with removable storm battens) along the centre of cabin, which can be removed to lower the counterweighted mast. The cabin has a double bed and large sail cupboard as well as smaller cupboards and built in shelves and access forward to the anchor locker.
Water is heated by a propane boiler, which has been CORGI certified. There is also an in built electric heater, original and modern navigation lights, 200 litre water tanks and the ability to run from mains water, four fire extinguishers, a smoke alarm and a carbon monoxide alarm. There are numerous bilge access points and a bilge pump and alarm system fitted. There is a further bilge pump in the engine compartment. The whole of the decking area is laid with teak and is therefore non slip and there are also wooden handrails, name boards and gunwhales mounted on the steel hull.
She is currently moored in a quiet and well sought after boatyard on the river Deben set in 36 acres of woodland and 5 minutes drive from Woodbridge train station. The mooring is available upon agreement with the boatyard owner.
This is a great opportunity for a complete change of lifestyle, amid the beautiful scenery of the east coast of England, in a lovely traditional sailing barge. |
