This classic barge is exceptionally special and is not to be confused with any other boat that may appear similar by description. There will never be and you will never find, another Magpies and Butterflies.

We’ve operated this boat commercially for the last 6 years and she consistently generates more than £30,000 per year, whilst allowing us to also enjoy her. If you are looking for a ready made business, here it is - or a combination of operating commercially and for your own personal use.

She has been specifically engineered, designed and built in Holland and whilst entirely unique, every element of the design has been thought through to make boat ownership and maintenance as financially efficient as is humanly possible. For example, she is powered by a VW Golf diesel engine, one of the most prolific engines ever designed and built, making parts and service items exceptionally inexpensive.

In addition, all of the onboard systems to make life a breeze, are made by Victron, including a 3.6 KVA isolation transformer, 3 KW inverter, 2 x Webasto diesel heaters which can be remotely controlled simply using your phone via the Victron Venus GX, all Victron solar charge controllers connected to 3 solar panels mounted discreetly on the wheelhouse roof. She has WIFI onboard along with ceiling mounted iPads in both the front and aft sleeping cabins enabling you to be able to watch Sky, Netflix, Amazon Prime etc.

She has a new Jabsco deluxe macerating toilet, just fitted, all toilet pipe work replaced, 3 KW log burner, marble worktops, Waeco super efficient fridge/freezer and gas hob.

This boat has a commercial boat safety certificate, which means it’s been tested and passed to a much higher level of requirements than a standard pleasure boat and doesn’t expire until end of March 2027. Recently lifted, anti fouled and repainted, for family cruising or as a live aboard, she’s going to be hard to beat!

She is available with a floating hammerhead mooring, possible the best mooring in the marina, in possibly the best marina on the non tidal Thames. The mooring is very close to the car park and all the marina amenities.

You step aboard the spacious wheelhouse with seating and plenty of natural light through the huge windows. Two steps lead you down to the saloon where you will find the bathroom, complete with built in shower, Jabsco deluxe toilet to the left. Kitchen with marble worktops, sofa and chairs, dining table for 4, wine rack and wood burner. The forward cabin has a very comfy double bed suitable for two people, complete with ceiling mounted iPad, heating and a fan for warmer nights.

To the left of the wheelhouse, you will find the aft cabin, with twin beds (exceptionally comfortable), ceiling mounted iPad, fan and heating.

A family of four can happily stay aboard this boat and feel as though they have their own space. Of course, she’d also work perfectly for couple or a single person as a liveaboard. In fact, as a single person or a couple looking to buy a boat instead of a house, you really couldn’t get a more beautiful place to live, with such a special feel, with the most stunning views.

The sunrises and sunsets from our mooring are spectacular. Guests who have stayed aboard this boat, take a little piece of magic away with them. Many have returned time and time again and have become firm friends. There is something magical about Magpies and Butterflies. She is a boat that will look after you and you can’t help but to fall in love with.
