Description
Groninger Bolschip built by Van Wijk in Veendam, Holland, in 1922. 20.60 x 4.15 mts originally a sailing barge which has subsequently been motorised and still has the original lee boards fitted. Original back cabin steel topsides with all new steel cabin topsides. Fully converted to a cottage style interior fit out by joiner owner making this a cosy but spacious layout. This barge is a rare find as her sister ship, (The Ebenhaezer) is shown outside at the Veenkoloniaal museum in Veendam, Holland. Full out of water dry dock hull survey (2024) and full afloat survey carried out this year, 2025. All satisfactory. Accommodation
The accommodation is fitted out in a cottage style with reclaimed antique pine ceiling and floor with maple veneered paneling to cabin sides. Hand make Iroko timber arched opening sash windows, 5 in the main cabin and 2 in the bathroom. Hull sides fitted with 50mm x 12mm pine strips to follow the hull shape. There is a fully fitted kitchen. The bathroom has a cast iron ceramic bath which the diesel boiler easily fills with hot water.
Construction
Rivetted steel construction with frames every foot. All of the internal hull was treated with Dutch grease prior to being fitted out. All insulation is 50mm Rockwool slabs.
